Not all those who wander are lost

50 km on a single weekend, two stages. 935 metres in height in total. Enough time to re-focus once again for a short amount of time, pulling the plug for two consecutive days and think about encountering and mastering obstacles.

A good stint with a brutal second day but where's a will there's a way - unless you don‘t see the obvious signs or simply ignore them: The ugly gratification here is a longer way to your destination, needing to walk the extra mile (or some kilometers in our case). Anyway, if you can prevent to walk more than needed, when you are able to walk the way in a effort-saving flavor, then do it - but that’s hardly the reality in private and work life.

Yes, and although the city of Trier is still seven stages away, the journey is the reward. Walk your way, identify barriers, deal with them, fight them, demolish them - or go another way when permanent success and sustainability fail to materialize or people are reluctant in supporting you and self-set common goals. Human roadblocks aren’t there to stay and although everyone has an own target on mind, the mindset of a whole organization should be the red thread, a general objective.

The most important thing is to have the right people at your side with the proper mindset and the will to change what needs to be changed striving for common success - sitting idle and waiting for the things to happen is just pointless and frustrating. You must not walk the way alone but you need the proper backing and a common vision with clear commitments - and good partners of course! A way frought of obstacles must be walked nevertheless but for the good cause, those obstacles (being human or organizational) must be cleared - permanently.

Don’t let yourself get hindered by people living in the past or processes of yesterday. The world turns and you must turn with it - otherwise world doesn't revolve around you. And if you are really experiencing that a progress is not wanted despite all promises, it is time to re-think your own mission and find the proper way nevertheless: Wherever you may roam. There are enough bifurcations in today’s world and if even the best working colleagues and pals can’t handle it then doing the proper things is something that is not really wanted - so get yourself the partners on your personal way that cover your back and help you to achieve your goals.

It could be so simple…
